Venky's- Enough is Enough!!!

With All that has been going around at Ewood Park for quite some time, the worst thing is the points tally! 10 points out of a possible 51. Blackburn Rovers seems doomed, but what bothers me is that one cannot really see light at the end of the tunnel; or maybe there is no real end to the drama unfolding at the Ewood Park.

Swansea win was seen as an uplift by the Rovers' manager, Kean, but it has been anything but that. Kean had labelled the last 6 premier league games as a vital period of this season, but out of those 18 possible points, all Rovers could accumulate was 4 points. Can it get any worse? Yes, the injuries have played a part in the position we are in, but then this is a 'get the points' world and Kean has done nothing to appease the fans and I guess, he never will.
Despite the manager's POOR-POOR record, the problem and fault lies elsewhere. This is anything but an easy guess for the Rovers faithful- VENKY'S. They have run the club extremely poorly, worse than what Kean has managed to. There's no doubt in Steve Kean's inability to lift the club up but Venky's have to show up. Its quite shameful that they have been approached by a sponsor of Rovers to help them communicate with the club fans! That's utter nonsense from their side.

They have never come out in public to support Steve Kean, the manager needs the owners backing in public. Right now, Steve Kean is multi-tasking at Rovers whilst his job is to manage the team. He flies to India over and over again to communicate with the owners., takes all the stick for some poor performances by the players, Press-Interviews to convey what Venky's say. Its bullshit! His job is to manage the team. There has to be a proper management set up, NOW! Not that I don't want Kean out, I definitely want him out, but first Venky's need to put in a proper management team set up.
They need to drag themselves into the situation at Rovers, and answer the fans about all they want to know. There has to be a little more transparency in the functioning of this, Once a greatly run club. They have to be more public, realistic and most importantly true to the faithful. They need to start putting things in place, NOW, it'd be too late come January end.  It's just that Steve Kean is the most visible part of the problem, that he's getting the undeserved stick.
I hope Venky's understand the magnitude of this issue for people living in Blackburn, this club means their lives to them all, and they have got two ways-
1. ACT QUICK AND SMART.    OR     2. QUIT!!! Any of these would be accepted.

Dramatic Match! But Not The Perfect Outing!

Blackburn Rovers staged a real late comeback at the DW Stadium through Yakubu's penalty in the 99th minute. A draw- Not exactly what we wanted, but something we needed! All Rovers supports would have been hoping to pick up 3 very important points but all we could snatch is 1 point.
An excellent start at Wigan could have made fans feel a victory that could turn Blackburn Rovers fortunes for this season. An early chip goal by Yakubu saw Blackburn go ahead of a disgruntled Wigan Athletic. Paul Robinson's master-class goal kick was headed on by Dunn, and Steven Nzonzi's mis-placed pass leading to a terrible miss from Wigan Captain, Gary Caldwell, saw Yakubu finish it very wel as he lifted it over the keeper and into the net.

Everyone would have been delighted, but not for long. As it has been proved this season, Rovers cannot maintain a lead for more than 10 minuted for most of the times. Wigan Athletic equalised just six minutes later.Since then it was all defending for Rovers, until Pedersen well struck free-kick hit the post and fell back into play. Rovers defence was shambolic, worst i have seen for the last one year atleast.
Just past the half hour and Wigan's turnaround was complete. Jodi Gomez sent a corner from the left into the area and as a static Rovers defence stood and watched, Gary Caldwell atoned from his earlier error to head into the back of the net. Wigan Athletic continued to maintain a threat to the Rovers goal. Rovers just couldnt keep upto to Vicotr Moses' pace. He was excellent throughout the first half but had missed two golden opportunities to put the game to bed in the first half itself. Luckily, for Rovers, the half time whistle couldnt have come at a better time.
Rovers job was made even more difficult in the second half when David Dunn was awarded a second yellow resulting to a Red card for a half-tackle on Diame. The hour mark saw Rovers get back on level terms via a controversial corner.Whether the referee thought Yakubu had taken a corner kick on the left remains to be seen but he looked away as Morten Gamst Pedersen dribbled the ball from the corner flag into the area before firing it across goal. Ali Al Habsi got a hand to the ball but only to divert it up for a gleeful Junior Hoilett who headed home from two yards.
Rovers played delightfully. They looked a far better team in the second half even with 10 men.
Rovers failed to go in front with a gilt-edged chance when Yakubu drove the ball past the keeper and was ready to put Rovers infront until a timely interception from a Wigan defender. Two minutes later, Paul Robbo made a fantastic save to keep Rovers' hopes alive. It was a blinder. A cross from the left Rodallega in front of the goal but his first time shot was superbly kept out.
Just when it seemed that it was all Rovers, Wigan grabbed a crucial third goal against the run of play through Albert Crusat's long strike that crept under Paul Robinson and into the back of the net. It was a bitter blow for Rovers after the ten men did so well to get back into the game the way they did.
The hig-drama match certainly didnt end there. Six minutes into stoppage time, a Rovers corner saw Paul Robinson head forward for the corner. The corner was kept out and as Robbo tried to head the ball, Dave Jones, kicked Jones high legged tackle hit the Rovers Captain on the head only for a late penalty. The refree had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.

The pen. was left for Yakubu to hold his nerve and cool as you like, he stroked the ball into the back of the net with Al Habsi diving in the opposite direction.
Yes, The Spirit in the Rovers camp is certainly high and with performances like the one in the second half are sure to come some points. An emphatic second half performance from a spirited 10 men Rovers' saw them grab a late point at the DW Stadium. A much needed point on their travels.

Steve Kean- A New Contract? Ridiculous!

With all that has been going on at the Blackburn Rovers, I am sure, this rumours, if it holds any truth might back fire for the Venky's. This deal might only add to the frustrations growing amongst the Rovers faithful. Its only infuriating the already upset fans.Though its an incredible vote of confidence in their current manager.

I personally have an opinion of liking Steve Kean's style of play although until now it hasn't come off exactly the way we would have liked. His current contract expires in 2013, there is absolute no need for a new contract at a time when the fans are disgusted with the manager. He is trying to prove himself. Let him! He hasn't proved himself as yet.
A new contract is doing no good to Steve Kean's cause and neither the Venky's.Until now, the fans chanted 'Steve Kean Out', it soon might as well be 'Venky's Out'. NOT GOOD.

Currently, the team is showing signs of improvement, all players have a good relation with Steve Kean. Sacking him might just do bad to Rovers instead of good. It will affect the working, playing style, and so much more and its definitely tough to keep adjusting time and again for the players. But, an improved contract to Steve Kean is not the right way to go about this issue.
Though until now, I have been in support of Steve Kean, this move by the Venky's have saddened me too. Its a ridiculous decision.
HOPE THIS DOESNT BACK FIRE!

Still Optimistic? HELL YES...

Some people have come to me and asked me,' Still optimistic of a turnaround at the Ewood park?', the answer is a very direct and a firm YES!!!
Blackburn Rovers, with the way they have played, definitely deserve to get some points on the board. A narrow 0-1 defeat, I must say, against a very strong Chelsea side where Rovers could have also won the game doesnt really show for their consistent performances in the last four matches.Well, there is every reason to be hoping of a unbeaten run very soon.
Blackburn Rovers almost went ahead through Yakubu in the ninth minute but a poor touch by The Yak didnt really change the score. The link-up play was excllent between Mauro Formica and Junior Hoilett and it was a sign of many better things to come, in the remaining time of the match. It was a glorious chance gone begging.
To Rovers credit, they kept on pressing the Chelsea defence, when on the ball. At half time Rovers fans had mixed feelings, though the Rovers didnt score, the did not concede as well. But there was some bad news, Chris Samba limped off only to be substituted by the young, Grant Hanley.
Chelsea substitued Malouda for Torres soon after half time. They knew they had to win this one, but it was not going to be easy, NEVER! 6 minutes after play had resumed, Chelsea scored the first goal of the game, with Lampard stooping to head it past Paul Robinson into the net.
Rovers looked to hit back immediately, Ruben Rochina failing to test the goalkeeper with a snapshot that was easy for Cech. Then the Chelsea keeper made a double save, first to stop Pedersen's free-kick and then to deny Grant Hanley on the follow-up. Like Yakubu's chance in the first half, it was a chance that had to be taken. Another chance gone begging.
Minutes after that, Yakubu had another chance to put Rovers on level, thanks to Robinson's goal kick, but his curling shot was put out by Petr Cech.
Three minutes later and Mauro Formica beat Cech with a shot from the right of the area, but Ramires was there to clear from inside his own six-yard box. Rovers were edging closer and closer for a leveller. The closest Blackburn Rovers came was when Ivanovic headed a corner against his own bar.
With Rovers piling bodies forward in search of a deservedgoal, they were hit on the break, but luckily for Rovers, Fernando Torres remained himself and missed a very easy goal.
It was a gallant display from Rovers, but not for the first time this season, they didn't earn the rewards their play deserved. And yes, I am still very sure, Rovers are going to get it going VERY SOON.

Fortune favors the Brave, Not this Time..!

Many a times this season, Blackburn Rovers have been down, be it 'on the pitch' or 'off the pitch'. Despite that, Steve Kean's side have been brave enough to take all the crap going on off the pitch and in the last one week they've turned their performances significantly, Against Tottenham, Newcastle United and now against Norwich. All these performances were entertaining. But fortune has been against these Brave men with a late penalty (Clearly not a Penalty) awarded to Norwich to settle scores with Rovers and earn an undeserved point.

Steve Kean's side started the game better than many would have expected. When attacking, they were always a threat to Norwich City's goal. Norwich City were a threat in counter-attacks as well and they could have been in front, had it not been for Paul Robinson's classy save. Rovers had to wait for their first goal, but not until the second half, A first half stoppage time shot from Junior Hoilett saw the ball fly into the top corner and Rovers were deservedly ahead.

Norwich City started the second half on the front foot and to show for all the possession and pressing they had in the second half, a more than impressive effort from Steve Morison got them back on level with Rovers.
But Blackburn Rovers did not let their heads down and give up but instead they attacked all the more.

The game looked all but over when Blackburn Rovers struck twice in two minutes to make it 3-1. Yakubu got Rovers 2-1 ahead with a goal from a very tight angle. The Norwich keeper should have done better and held on to the ball, but The Yak struck the ball with venom. A minute later, Morten Gamst Pedersen's free kick provided the perfect assist for a Chris Samba header and the ball flew into the net. Job done? Not yet...

Rovers matches are never over until the final whistle and yes, it was proved once again. On 82 minutes, Bradley Johnson's effort took a huge deflection and Paul Robinson could do nothing but see the ball go into the net. It was 3-2. In the final few minutes, it was all Norwich, but Rovers held on, until four minutes into stoppage time when Steven Nzonzi was adjudged to have handeld the ball and awarded Norwich a penalty to make nightmares for Rovers come true. Grant Holt stepped and did the needful for his side. It was 3-3. A referee mistake cost Blackburn Rovers 2 points. Rovers were dumbfounded.

It was another point on their travels, but it should have been three. Lets for once, not blame Steve Kean and blame our misfortune. It was an excellent performance from Blackburn Rovers side. And i can speculate many such coming.!

Go Rovers, Go..!

Gael Givet's last minute gasp in extra time gave Blackburn Rovers a much deserved and a much awaited victory that has sent them into the Quarter Finals of the Carling Cup. This definitely serves as some respite for the gaffer at the Rovers.

The Blackburn Rovers were 2-0 up until stoppage time, but a sudden lapse in concentration saw them concede two stoppage time goals and with that hopes started sinking. A Pederson free-kick got Rovers one ahead of the Magpies in the first half of extra time before Newcastle levelled once again from a spot kick. A last minute goal in extra time saw Rovers get through to the Quarters in style.

It was only 5 minutes until Blackburn had to wait to score a very well placed Ruben Rochina shot from Martin Olsson's cross and that had suited Rover's need very well because that goal would have been a confidence booster. Newcastle's response to the goal was instant, as one would expect from an unbeaten side this season when Demba ba struck the post from a close range effort.

Newcastle looked more of a threat as the second half progressed. It became more of a counter-attacking game. Rovers scored their second when Rochina was caught by Krul on the stretch. Yakubu stepped up for the penalty and coolly sent Krul the wrong way to put Blackburn 2-0 up. The Rovers Faithful already could see the team to progress to the last 8.

Normal time was over(minus the stoppage time), it was still Rovers 2-0 Newcastle. But a very abrupt lapse of concentration from the home team saw them give away 2 goals in just the stoppage time. And all fans were in disbelief by what they had seen.

Morten Gamst Pedersen recovered the Lancashire club’s lead in the first half of extra time with a very well placed free-kick and he looked to have saved Blackburn's blushes only until Peter Lovenkrands converted a spot kick when Grant Hanley brought him down in an off-the ball tackle.

The game seemed to be heading for penalties until Givet got on the end of a Samba's cross with a low diving header and saw Blackburn through to the Last 8 in the competition with a much needed win. An Epic win for the Rovers and it serves as a respite for the manager, owners and the fans too!

Lets get through the hard, but TOGETHER!!

Blackburn Rovers, having played 9 maches this season, have won just one with only 5 points on the board! A really disgusting fact for all the Rovers supporters! I share the pain guys! Every managerial tactic Steve Kean has tried out has gone down to more and more rage from the faithful..! The supporters are adamant that Stevie Kean needs to leave for this club to stay put in the Barclays Premier League..

Yesterday, It was at Ewood Park, where there were protests held before the game as well as after ! But what's the point of going against your own club members?? I still wonder! The enthusiasm in the protests, had that been transferred to support during the game, there'd be an uplift in Rovers players and also the management! But fans are sticking to only one point, " Kean Out".

A wonderful and gutsy display from the Blackburn Rovers against a much better side was a sign of much better things to come at the Ewood Park. There was the intent to get the all three 'vital' points.. But ending up with none is not the end of the world. See the positives quite a lotta people would be happy after yesterday's performance, and I am sure now, Blackburn Rovers are ready to climb up the table.

The current table position isnt really showing the real position of our performances.. A well-deserved win against Everton and Tottenham would have had us in the top 12.. That wouldnt be a bad league position at this time. Everything's going wrong at the Ewood, but I'm sure that now its Blackburn's turn to climb up the table and start making the excellent performances into deserved points..!

Lets stick together, and then I'm sure the current Rovers squad is capable of a Top 12 finish!!
