Go Rovers, Go..!

Gael Givet's last minute gasp in extra time gave Blackburn Rovers a much deserved and a much awaited victory that has sent them into the Quarter Finals of the Carling Cup. This definitely serves as some respite for the gaffer at the Rovers.

The Blackburn Rovers were 2-0 up until stoppage time, but a sudden lapse in concentration saw them concede two stoppage time goals and with that hopes started sinking. A Pederson free-kick got Rovers one ahead of the Magpies in the first half of extra time before Newcastle levelled once again from a spot kick. A last minute goal in extra time saw Rovers get through to the Quarters in style.

It was only 5 minutes until Blackburn had to wait to score a very well placed Ruben Rochina shot from Martin Olsson's cross and that had suited Rover's need very well because that goal would have been a confidence booster. Newcastle's response to the goal was instant, as one would expect from an unbeaten side this season when Demba ba struck the post from a close range effort.

Newcastle looked more of a threat as the second half progressed. It became more of a counter-attacking game. Rovers scored their second when Rochina was caught by Krul on the stretch. Yakubu stepped up for the penalty and coolly sent Krul the wrong way to put Blackburn 2-0 up. The Rovers Faithful already could see the team to progress to the last 8.

Normal time was over(minus the stoppage time), it was still Rovers 2-0 Newcastle. But a very abrupt lapse of concentration from the home team saw them give away 2 goals in just the stoppage time. And all fans were in disbelief by what they had seen.

Morten Gamst Pedersen recovered the Lancashire club’s lead in the first half of extra time with a very well placed free-kick and he looked to have saved Blackburn's blushes only until Peter Lovenkrands converted a spot kick when Grant Hanley brought him down in an off-the ball tackle.

The game seemed to be heading for penalties until Givet got on the end of a Samba's cross with a low diving header and saw Blackburn through to the Last 8 in the competition with a much needed win. An Epic win for the Rovers and it serves as a respite for the manager, owners and the fans too!

KEEP THE FAITH !!!

Lets get through the hard, but TOGETHER!!

Blackburn Rovers, having played 9 maches this season, have won just one with only 5 points on the board! A really disgusting fact for all the Rovers supporters! I share the pain guys! Every managerial tactic Steve Kean has tried out has gone down to more and more rage from the faithful..! The supporters are adamant that Stevie Kean needs to leave for this club to stay put in the Barclays Premier League..

Yesterday, It was at Ewood Park, where there were protests held before the game as well as after ! But what's the point of going against your own club members?? I still wonder! The enthusiasm in the protests, had that been transferred to support during the game, there'd be an uplift in Rovers players and also the management! But fans are sticking to only one point, " Kean Out".

A wonderful and gutsy display from the Blackburn Rovers against a much better side was a sign of much better things to come at the Ewood Park. There was the intent to get the all three 'vital' points.. But ending up with none is not the end of the world. See the positives quite a lotta people would be happy after yesterday's performance, and I am sure now, Blackburn Rovers are ready to climb up the table.

The current table position isnt really showing the real position of our performances.. A well-deserved win against Everton and Tottenham would have had us in the top 12.. That wouldnt be a bad league position at this time. Everything's going wrong at the Ewood, but I'm sure that now its Blackburn's turn to climb up the table and start making the excellent performances into deserved points..!

Lets stick together, and then I'm sure the current Rovers squad is capable of a Top 12 finish!!
